A Pitch X
Well as promised on facebook and after continued deliberation I've finally perfected a pitch X. This idea is dedicated to Enoch Chu, your idea became my inspiration and now see the fruits of our labor. So my other readers wish to contribute next time for an idea I'm doing another one at XV. I've already have XI in the works. So without further adue, I present a pitch X.
People are like stars, there are thousands of them. They are born and eventually die. In the year 3048 they say that when a starfalls a war ends. In the depths of space, thousands of dropships containing highly trained soldiers approach the planet codenamed HF005. Their mission to liberate control of the planet from a neo-facist government by reclaiming the military fortress Victor. As the ships approach the planet, computers hum to life waking the soldiers from their cryo-sleep. 2nd Lieutenant Cyper Geno leader of the elite squad known as the Shooting Stars leads the initial invasion of the fortress. The initial drop is a scene straight out of the Omaha beach landing of D-Day, flak and machine gun fire pour out of the fortress. However unlike D-Day 89% of the initial invasion force is wiped out in minutes. As for the Shooting Stars, they have breached the fortress's walls and begin thier sweep of the facility.
What they find is that there never was any neo-facist faction takeover. What they were fighting was a civil war. Moreover something seems out of place, radio communication is short and repeated messages. So as the Shooting Star squad loses members one by one, Cyper discovers that the mission was never to liberate the fortress. In fact the years that these soliders were in cold sleep, earth has finally attained true peace and to further preserve that peace they had to do away with the weapons and instruments of war. Thus they were sent to die. A star is about to fall.
