A Look Into A Pitch IX
Well its that time again. Time to take a deeper look into "Destiny Drifters" a story about History and the one man who will risk it all to protect it. As I mentioned in a few of my posts I had a really hard time when it came to the initial development of Destiny Drifters. It was a hard pick to decided on an idea, since with various stresses going on with my life. Then when I finally came up with this idea about a being who knew everything, not necessarily a god but a being who knew the entire history of the human race, its beginning and its end. And this was all contained in a pure and innocent child. Upon first thinking about it I knew I had something going here, being a history major I really questioned what is History and what could people do with it. So with that I decided to make it my 9th pitch idea.
With that in mind I'd like to go into some thematic elements, as you can see the theme is history. When you first hear the word history you immediately think, school, presidents, leaders and dates. But in Destiny Drifters I want to tell a story about two people who go on this adventure drifting about the U.S. eluding their pursuers, all while trying to make sense of what this being called the Crident is. A bit of story element here, as time goes on Holden and Laura eventually find out that the Crident is not only a being who holds the history of humanity, but it's memories as well. To get what I'm saying its like this, when you or anyone goes out to do something and you never write about it or tell anyone, you leave nothing. Now say you happen to die, all your memories and feelings of that one day, that one moment you existed vanished. In the great timeline of man you left nothing. The Crident however is the one who holds all of that in, so that no one is forgotten or left out. To be able to travel the world and tell of the feelings, memories of each individual person to all so that all may know and remember.
I came across this point in the first few weeks of this semester, when I discovered the nature of the study of history. Once I heard it I knew that it was perfect for this idea. So even though I still have a lot of writing to do in that class still. I'll never regret hearing that point. So that's a look into a pitch IX.
