Money and Dating
Another relationship post again, man I talk way too much about relationships and I don't even have a girlfriend =(. Well today we will be talking about money and dating. You see I don't have a girlfriend for two reasons, one: I have no time for one and two: girls are expensive. I will be focusing on the second of the two. Now to any female readers I'm sorry but I'm going to be brutally honest and male readers if you have a girlfriend I apologize as well. When two people get into a relationship it means that the two care for each other or have similar interests to be able to spend time with each other. Now we hit on the topic at hand, dates they are expensive. Depending on what you do most fun things are not free nor are things to eat. I get the fact that guys try to spend cash on a girl to woo them and show them a good time.
Now in my case I am a poor college student, since I didn't work all of this summer my wallet is pretty small. To me when you feel that you have to spend money on every date you go on, a girl becomes more like an investment. And like every investment there are risks such as breaking up. Depending on what you did with the girl say like gifts, dinners, movies, theme park tickets, and etc you just basically lost a bunch of money on her and it seemed like a waste of time and effort. To put it into my terms I used to buy Yu-Gi-Oh cards, I bought a lot of them as much as twenty dollars could buy me. Now I don't collect them anymore and they sit in my room collecting dust. I think back at how much anime DVDs or stuff I could have bought with all the money I spent.
Anyways back on to the topic at hand, let me say this if you're in a relationship maybe take that special someone out for a simple date and don't spend money on food or drink, like a walk in the park or some place go someplace scenic. I feel that a date shouldn't be about going to see a movie or eating at some place nice, its about being with that special someone that you care about. If they felt that the date was too boring or uninspired tell them that you wanted to see if they were interested in doing something simple and that being with them is enough for you. It's like with me just being around the girl I like is enough for me. Just being around her gives me a warm feeling inside and could sustain me for hours. Thats what I would want my ideal girl to feel as well.
In conclusion I'm not necessarily saying that spending money on dates is a bad thing. I'm just saying that you should just take into account that the reason you got into the relationship was because you both care for each other. So guys do whatever you want with your money as long as you don't go overboard with spending it on one girl, since there's no garantee that you'll be with her forever. So If you ever have the time go on that simple date of your choosing, because a relationship shouldn't be about money.
