Inspiration is the Key to Success
For my reader(s), I guess I'd like to write a little about my pitch ideas. I know that many of them sound corny and maybe even impossible, but its me you know. Its always fun to not yell at the world for the various things that its done wrong to me. So thats why the Pitch topics arose. I know blogs are meant to either a:relieve stress, b:journal stuffz, c:just be a plain emo. But I'd like to take this time to write about how the idea arose with me and the inspiration that leads me to write about my different ideas. Obviously anime and video games play a huge role in my life. Without them I'd be some emo nerd that would one day become an enemy to society. Yes in many ways I do consider myself an otaku (for those of us who aren't familar with the term an anime nerd). Anyways it all started in 8th grade (sounds like I'm talking to a psychiatrist =P) it was a critical point in my life when I finally woke up from my delusional world of innocence. I began to think more darkly and became more passive. To keep myself away from those thoughts I thought about anime ideas.
I thought of the many things that have never appeared in animes. Demon Savior oringinally started out as a cop who had the ability to transform into a beast and would fight against the mob and triads. However it was during my 8th grade year that a certain game came into my possession. That game was Devil May Cry. I was amazed, even though now I think that the story was a bit corny, it was ahead of its time. So I thought why shouldn't my character be able to do something like that. Thus the forming of Ryo and Selpha began. Selpha was inspired by Sparda (Dante's demon father), originally Selpha was going to be Iris's brother, but that idea was scrapped since it made no sense. Then I had the brillant idea of making a story where everyone, you mom, dad, brother, sister, friends and enemies; all had a demon, angelic or heroic spirit in them. I never once saw that in an anime and from that the demonic savior's fight to bring light to a futuristic world of darkness by the blood of the guilty was born.
In terms of powers and such in Demon Savior it all comes from Naruto, Bleach, Devil May Cry, Kenshin and various other anime. The ability to see spirits and help them out comes from Bleach episode 3. The rewards they give you were all my idea, why shouldn't spirits pass on thier abilities, memories, knowledge or even give gifts? Anyways thats the inspiration that I gathered from anime and games for Demon Savior.
I guess it just shows you the power of imagination (waves hands and rainbow appears =P). I urge everyone to do what I do (heh heh, that sounds funny but no time for laughing now!) I don't care how corny or stupid it sounds, as long as you think its good and it drives you to become more inspired by a crazy world around you its fine. This isn't American Idol after all.
